The 1st Spark | [video - action]

[ The video feed turns on, showing a young guy, around 17 years old, his head and naked torso dripping wet. He seemed to be panting, as if he just ran a marathon, holding the journal up to his face. ]

Hah...hah...Has anyone...ha...seen a glove? ...Black...hah... with a sun on the back. Fits on the right hand. [ He takes a breath. ] Please! It's important to me! Anyone there? [ The video feed turns off, just as the boy was going to say more. ]

[ Shingo can later be found in the plaza, still soaked, still half naked, glove on his left hand, nothing on the other. He keeps calling out to people passing by, asking if they've seen a glove identical to the one he's wearing. His expression looks crestfallen, he has no idea what he's gonna do if he doesn't find it. ]

G-guide? I didn't know there was a guide. I just washed up on the shore not too far from here.... [ Once he realized he was missing one of his gloves, he almost completely forgot that he was in a completely different area. ]

What do you mean out there? What is this place?

Yeah. When you washed up, you had a book with you, right? The guide should be in there somewhere. And as for where we are, well, this place is called Luceti and...Hmm. Where to begin?

[There's never really a nice way to put this, so she might as well just say it.]

Um...Well. The short version is that you've been kiiiiind of kidnapped by scientists and now you're soooort of stuck in another world. I mean, there's more to it than that, but...

...I will admit, I'm not very shocked about this. Something very similar happened to Kyo-senpai not too long ago. Just before I woke up here, we finally found and rescued him. It was still in Japan though, and this is supposed to be another world so...[ He just sighs. ]

First thing's first, I want to find this glove. Even if he wouldn't be mad about it, it's special for me.

[She's pretty surprised at his reaction. He almost makes it sound like an inconvenience rather than a kidnapping! And there he goes on that glove again. She kind of wonders if he's even noticed his wings yet...]

Well, like I said, your glove is probably in the clothing shop along with your other clothes. You'll probably be able to find anything else you're missing, too. All kinds of stuff pops up in there, y'know?

[ Glove first. Strange things on his body later. ]

Okay...Yeah, I guess you're right, I'll take a look. Sorry for panicking back there. Maybe you could point me the way?

Don't worry about it! I think most people panic a little when they first get here.

[Usually for different reasons, but still. She turns toward a nearby building, pointing towards it.]

It's right over there. If you don't find it there, you might wanna check the other shops, too.

[ He nods, smiling, glad that someone was finally able to help. ]

Oh! I'm Shingo, by the way. I don't mean to be rude, but can I ask for your name?

My name's Pilouette, but some people just call me Pils. Um, nice to meet you.

Pilouette...I like that! Sorry about all the trouble. If it really is in one of the shops, I'll be glad.

[She gets just the teensiest bit flustered when he says he likes her name. Whether he meant it as a genuine compliment or not doesn't matter as she really wasn't expecting it. Plus omg a boy said something nice about her kinda]

O-oh! Um, like, no trouble at all, really! Anyway, I hope you find it soon. You made it sound really important and when you're stuck here, having things like that from home can really help!

Well, the thing is, I wouldn't care about anything else. It's just these gloves are really special to me. They belonged to Kyo-senpai, and he used them to win the past two tournaments! Then he gave them to me for getting so far in my first tournamen-Oh!

That's right! Kyo is the King of Fighters. He's the strongest guy in the world, he's so cool! Even though he's a big shot fighter, he actually goes to my high school! We practiced at lunch together, he'd teach me techniques, and I'd give him food! It was a good trade off, I got a lot stronger, and when I got into the top 20, these gloves were my reward for all my hardwork! He taught me the Kusanagi-style kenpo martial arts, and I managed to practice each and every move enough so that he was proud of me when I used them to win in the tournament! They're really tough, only the strongest of the Kusanagi clan know them! Oh! The Kusanagi clan is the family Kyo is from! They're a pretty rich family, I've actually visited sometimes and-

[ You must stop him before it's too late. ]

[As he talks Pils struggles to get a word in, but...]

Oh, uh...

Gee, that's-

[After a few moments of trying to comprehend Shingo's deluge of words, she decides to try raising her voice a little.]

Hey, that sounds super cool, but don't you think you should go on looking for that glove so you can find the rest of your clothes? It would be like, kind of awful if you got sick so soon after ending up here, wouldn't it?

Rest..of my clothes? [ He looks down. Yeah, he's still half naked. ]

A-AH! SORRY! UM! I'M NOT ALWAYS LIKE THIS! I FORGOT ABOUT THEM! I MEAN, I NEVER HAD THEM TO BEGIN WITH! I'M SORRY!

Oh, uh, n-no, it's okay! Really!

[Since he seems so embarrassed she looks away from him.]

They, um, they do that to every one they bring here...!
